Enhancing the lives of children and young adults

Take a break

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Not so long ago few people survived into adulthood.

Today, it’s a different story. Improved treatments mean that more young people with CF live longer. However, there is still no cure and the life expectancy of someone with CF is much shorter than average.

From the moment the disease is diagnosed the shadow of CF dominates the lives of sufferers and their families alike.

They must endure the daily routine of taking medication and intensive physiotherapy, the long periods of time spent in hospital fighting dangerous infections and the lifelong threat posed by CF.

All these pressures take their toll and make any break very special.
